| Interest in a subject plays a major role in deciding one’s career path. This test is designed to identify individual’s core areas of interests. It will also give the persons knowledge about the work and activities to be performed in that field. Our Interest Inventory has 31 factors (24 areas of interest and 7 motivators). |

| 2) Aptitude Test and its types: |

Verbal Aptitude |
Verbal ability is used to assess how well you are with words. It is the capacity to perceive connections between various words. These tests usually include grammar, analogy (the association of words), and following written instructions. There may also be tests in spelling, reading comprehension and completion of sentences. Verbal ability is tested because the employer needs to know if a prospective employee communicates well. |

Numerical Aptitude |
These tests may involve basic arithmetic such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing skills. Also tested is the ability to recognize number sequences and some mathematical skills such as fractions, decimals, etc. |

Mechanical or Technical Aptitude |
Mechanical or Technical aptitude enables you to understand how things work and function. This test requires specific knowledge of levers, pulleys, gears, springs, tools, electrical circuits and shop arithmetic. These tests are designed to gauge how smart and fast you can interpret and solve problems related to mechanical faults. It deals more with your basic reaction to a practical problem than your learnt knowledge. |

Spatial Ability can be defined as ‘The ability to interpret and make drawings, form mental images, and visualize movement or change in those images.’ Spatial ability test measures your ability to manipulate shapes in two dimensions or to visualize three-dimensional objects presented as two-dimensional pictures. |

Logical Reasoning |
The process of using a rational, systematic series of steps based on sound mathematical procedures to arrive at a conclusion; the drawing of conclusions from given facts and mathematical principles; often used as a problem solving strategy. |

| 3) Personality Profiling: |
The Personality Profiling helps to measure the traits and characteristics that make a person unique. The various characteristics of an individual such as outgoing, inward looking, calmness, responsiveness, impulsiveness, Judgment about others, emotional stability etc are assessed and a personality profile is developed. These tests measure the enduring characteristics of the person that are significant for interpersonal behavior.
Personality is the uniqueness of a person. It is the collection of emotions, thought and behavioral patterns that is consistent over a period of time. In reality, it has a great impact on the person’s performance. Hence, it is necessary to know one’s own personality in selecting careers.
