Verbal ability is tested because the employer needs to know if a prospective employee communicates well.

This test requires specific knowledge of levers, pulleys, gears, springs, tools, electrical circuits and shop arithmetic. These tests are designed to gauge how smart and fast you can interpret and solve problems related to mechanical faults. It deals more with your basic reaction to a practical problem than your learnt knowledge.

3) Personality Profiling:

The Personality Profiling helps to measure the traits and characteristics that make a person unique. The various characteristics of an individual such as outgoing, inward looking, calmness, responsiveness, impulsiveness, Judgment about others, emotional stability etc are assessed and a personality profile is developed. These tests measure the enduring characteristics of the person that are significant for interpersonal behavior.

Personality is the uniqueness of a person. It is the collection of emotions, thought and behavioral patterns that is consistent over a period of time. In reality, it has a great impact on the person’s performance. Hence, it is necessary to know one’s own personality in selecting careers.

CAREER PLANNING:

Once the above 4 factors in an individual have been identified, the next step is to match these factors with different job profiles and choose the best suited careers for you. In depth Knowledge of different jobs in the various fields and the essential skills sets to be successful in each fields required. This is where the experience and expertise of a professional career consultant becomes vital.

The report at the end of the test will list out the best suited careers for you based on your Interests, Internal Motivators, Aptitude and Personality. Once you know which your best suited careers are, then you can explore them in depth and then shortlist them further to one or two before you make the final decision.

Career planning is a process and one has to go through the different stages. Once you are clear about the perfect Career for you, then you can start moving in that direction by choosing the Course, that is the undergraduate degree or diploma. Choosing the Career should precede choosing the course. This is where most parents and students make a mistake. They choose the course first, based on the current trend. It is only after they finish the course and start working, they realize the mistake and quite often it becomes too late to make a career change.
